Once you have paid your deposit you will be issued with a very detailed kit list which will answer any questions you have about the kit needed for the challenge.
In reality you don’t need to spend a lot of money on kit for the challenge, most of the time you will be in old t-shirts, shorts and trainers which you will probably throw away at the end of the challenge (kit gets a bit smelly in the jungle!).
Some items you will need to beg, borrow or buy:
- Walking boots
- 45 litre rucksack
- A Camelback (or similar) water carrying pack
- A sleeping bag
- First aid kit
You will also need warm clothes for the walk to the summit on the last day when it can get down to 2 degrees and colder with wind chill, however it is not worth spending a lot of money on expensive jackets because you will only be wearing them for a few hours.
